How to temporarily prevent a Windows Update from reinstalling in Windows 10
That won't stop it completely, but many fewer will come in. And the list does self-adjust in time (maybe the Windows Update Troubleshooter helps with that) - I'm down to 5 in there. If it's the same as is happening to me (after a clean install of Creators Update)...
...those aren't actually 'successful', as can be seen in Reliability Monitor (ask Cortana). Click the date of the last install...
However, as can be seen in Device Manager, a good install did take place at some point...
